Europe’s oldest public school dating from 597 AD, The King’s School, Canterbury in Kent is delighted to announce the opening of an outstanding new international school in Cambodia, in partnership with Vattanac Properties.

The King’s School, Vattanacville, will open close to the capital city Phnom Penh in September 2023, offering an exemplary British curriculum and world-class facilities for 1500 pupils.

Promising to be one of the foremost international independent schools within Cambodia, The King’s School, Vattanacville will follow the exemplary 21st-century educational model of The King’s School, Canterbury. The new school will look to King’s 1400-year British heritage to anchor its own guiding principles in Southeast Asia.

The King’s School, Vattanacville will be the second King’s School in Asia, joining The King’s School Shenzhen International in China and a purpose-built International College in Canterbury, Kent.
As one of the first branded UK schools in Cambodia, The King’s School Vattanacville will offer a progressive and creative setting, with curriculum development at the apex of providing a quality King’s School education.

Maintaining educational excellence set by The King’s School, Canterbury is core to the school’s ambitions in Cambodia and throughout Asia. Initially, classes will be offered to children from pre-kindergarten to year 7, with a senior school and boarding facilities opening by September 2025 offering A-Levels and the International Baccalaureate.

The project is fully funded by lead investor Vattanac Properties, a developer with a passion to provide the region with a prestigious British education whilst embracing Cambodian culture and international learning.

The opening of the new school in Cambodia reinforces The King’s School’s local, national and international reputation for the quality of its education, state of the art facilities and the pastoral care it provides to its students. The King’s School is focussed on retaining a close partnership with its international schools, ensuring the ethos and vision of the school are retained worldwide.
