Prep School

In Prep School, pupils will continue their journey at The King’s School, Canterbury, Vattanacville. Following the foundation years in Pre-Prep, pupils are now able to be independent learners and will research confidently, with teachers scaffolding their thinking and learning.

In years 3, 4 and 5, pupils will learn through a topic-based approach, where they will research topics such as: language and literature, arts, social and natural sciences and computer science. We will follow the English National Curriculum, with element of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). Pupils will have specialist teachers for physical education (PE), Khmer, arts and music, who will develop a cross-discipline teaching environment. These will provide inspiring and stimulating experiences in order to deepen pupils’ learning and knowledge.

In year 6, pupils will transition from a class-based teacher to subject teaching. The transition will be supported at the end of Year 5. In years 6, 7 and 8, students have subject specialist teachers for: English, maths, science, history, geography, a modern foreign language (chosen at the end of year 5), design and technology, art, music, physical education and computer science.

We believe in offering pupils the best education that encompasses developing their own personal aptitudes and interests. Pupils will have the opportunity to participate in drama and musical performances, and school and international competitions in areas, such as computing and maths.
