Welcome Letter

We are delighted to welcome you to The King’s School, Canterbury, Vattanacville. Phnom Penh, Cambodia’s bustling and vibrant capital, is a city rising in economic power and prosperity and it is here, in Phnom Penh, that the legacy of one of the oldest schools in the world, The King’s School Canterbury, continues. At The King’s School in Cambodia, we are fortunate to have a close link to an intellectual heritage that extends back over 1400 years but it is a progressive, internationally focused education that we are providing for our children and young adults in South-East Asia today.
At King’s we are committed to holistic, all-round education, focusing on the highest academic standards supported by opportunities for wider personal growth. What matters most in education is the way a school cares for its students. Nowhere does this better than King’s, in Canterbury and of course now, in Cambodia. Our philosophy is grounded in ensuring our students have every opportunity to develop each facet of themselves. To thrive, to grow, and to become strong, resilient and compassionate young adults. Our school will open to children aged 3 to 8 (Pre-Prep and Prep) in August 2023 in our stunning City Campus; the Vattanac lifestyle cube. The beautifully designed interiors, bespoke facilities and elegant construction will ensure that learning is active and interactive and where children are safe to explore and enquire. Our purpose built school site is currently under construction at Vattanacville, south of the city. Featuring state-of-the-art auditorium and sports facilities, including a swimming pool, climbing wall and indoor/outdoor courts, it will welcome pupils from aged 3 to 18 years old.The founding academic leadership team, with extensive experience of working together in Shanghai, has already arrived in Cambodia. Additional high quality teaching staff will join with us for our opening in 2023. Applications for pupils will be open soon and we welcome any parents interested in knowing more to get in touch, to visit us and come to know who we are and what is unique about a King’s education. I know from prior experience of founding schools, it is though connections and relationships can we build trust and we hope that you will give us the opportunity to do just that.

I look forward to hearing from you and welcoming your family to The King’s School in Cambodia.
